Pump Up Your Mental Muscles!
Before any athlete begins practice or goes out on the field
to play a game, that athlete spends hours in the gym or on the field
exercising, running plays, lifting weights and doing push-ups. This is one
reason I'm not an athlete. The fact I can't stand most sports is probably
another.
As a writer and a teacher of writing, I've found that writers benefit from
regular exercise as well. We need to shake loose those creative cobwebs that
form during those "non-creative" hours when we are taking care of the
business of living. Whenever I teach creative writing, we always begin
loosening up with some sort of creativity exercise.
On this site, you will find several aids to creativity from story starters
to creative research ideas to ways to more creatively market your writing. Some of
the ideas are just for fun. Now, you will need to keep coming back. The
articles will change and sometimes disappear forever.
